The French Army Museum's iconic FT17 finally renovated thanks to Arquus' support
On June 25th, President Levacher and representatives from Arquus were invited in the Invalides to celebrate the end of restoration works on the Army Museum’s FT-17 tank, which is one of its most valuable items. Founding element of Arquus’ identity, the FT-17, also known as the Tank of Victory, played a key role in the 1918 military successes. It is also one of the first military vehicles produced on a large scale, under the supervision of Louis Renault and general Estienne.
This vernissage party, which concluded months-long works, was organized in the context of the partnership between Arquus and the Army Museum, signed last January. This partnership aims at promoting French military history, and especially the historical links between Arquus and the Army. True to its origins, the company notably contributes to a temporary exhibition, “1918, armistice(s). From before to after November 11th”, and supports another exhibition about “France in 1940”.
